Jacob's Ladder
Seth Dorotich
President
Started Jan. 2005 (20 years)
In 2005 Seth started with Jacob’s Ladder painting trim at a house in Chesdin Landing. Almost 20 years later, Seth is the President and Owner. While Seth spends most of his time overseeing our commercial projects division, He also enjoys spending time with homeowners helping them achieve all aspects of their home improvement goals. When he's not in the office, his truck, a job site, or meeting with a customer, Seth enjoys spending time at home or squeezing in a round of golf. Seth's main focus is on delivering a great experience in the home remodeling industry and posts his email publicly so any of our great customers can reach him directly.
Cortni Byrd
Director of Operations
Started Mar. 2017 (8 years)
Cortni came to Jacob's Ladder through a temp agency and quickly found herself right at home with the team. She is a Richmond native and North Carolina A&T Alum. She has been working with the company since 2017 and during her time here she has learned a lot. She manages the company's daily operations, marketing, and website. She finds the construction industry rewarding because it is customer service oriented and offers new challenges every day. She enjoys speaking with customers over the phone and the occasional visit when someone stops by the office. Opening the mail and seeing a handwritten thank you note for JLC’s quality service and consideration brings a smile to her face.
Ceres Magno
Executive Assistant
Started Sept. 2025
Ceres joined the team in 2025 and quickly became one of the people who keep everything running behind the scenes. She brings more than eight years of administrative and operations experience and has a talent for creating order, even on days when everything feels like controlled chaos. She supports executive leadership with smooth scheduling, inbox management, vendor coordination, and detailed documentation. Before joining the company, she worked in both corporate and school environments, where she learned the value of clear communication, patience, and getting things right the first time. Ceres is always learning something new, usually through books or podcasts, and loves anything that helps her grow and support others better.
